The Five Souls — Who You Truly Are

Teachings of the Nomtiin Tengri Demch School — Lesson 2

Delivered 11 November 2016 · Translated from Mongolian

Editor's note: This is the second in a series of twelve lessons delivered by Master Shaman Bayasgalan Sodnomtseren at the Nomtiin Tengri Demch School. This session opened with an extraordinary event — the Soul-fathers of women present requested permission through the Translator Elder to visit their children. The teaching is recorded and translated as it unfolded.

The Five Souls

Every person must come into this world and be born, and there is a time appointed for each to encounter their destined path. When a person comes into this world and is born, they do not arrive with a single soul.

They arrive with five foundational souls:

1.  Bone Soul (Ясан сүнс) — the soul that carries the information of the paternal lineage

2.  Flesh Soul (Махан сүнс) — the soul that governs and inhabits the physical body

3.  Blood Soul (Цусан сүнс) — the soul that carries the information of the maternal lineage

4.  Life Soul (Амин сүнс) — the soul that protects a person's life

5.  Deed Soul (Үйлийн сүнс) — the soul that is highly industrious, moving energetically here and there, creating and fulfilling works

These five souls further subdivide and expand. They are distributed through the energy vortices of the human body, spreading across and taking up residence in the organs and tissues.

A Visit From the Soul-Fathers

What follows is recorded as it happened at the opening of this lesson.

At this time, the deceased fathers and grandfathers of the women who had come to the teaching requested permission through the Translator Elder — King Münzük — to meet with their children. The Translator Elder asked us to sing a song about fathers, and as we sang, the women present met with their Soul-fathers and grandfathers, weeping with deep emotion.

The visiting Soul-fathers then conveyed the following words to their children through the Translator Elder:

"A person must go through this world knowing and understanding the specific works they are meant to fulfil. Your fathers and mothers raised you from infancy, nurtured you into people of worth, instilled wisdom in you, and raised you well — and even now, though they have become souls, they continue to protect you even from the shadow, and to hold you in their love. Yet why, children, do you exhaust and collapse yourselves over the trivial concerns of life?"

After those present had settled, the teaching began.

The Teaching

"Now let us begin today's lesson. First, follow This Elder and we will travel together to a place. Now, children, close your physical eyes and feel clearly where you are travelling."

(After some time, eyes were opened and each person was asked where they had travelled, what they had seen and felt. Each person shared what they had witnessed and perceived.)

"Just now, This Elder led you all through a field of rippling, billowing grain. Mother Earth represents the wisdom needed for the physical body through her harvest. In other words, it is not an overstatement to say that Mother Earth creates wisdom. Go to the mountains, waters and wilderness to receive your knowledge and wisdom. Tall, ripened grain is the foundation of the wisdom and knowledge needed for the works that follow."

Children — Understood.

"Among the many kinds of knowledge you children need to acquire, one is learning wisdom and intelligence. What you have learned once must be tried and applied across many things. Furthermore, the mathematics of numbers is also used in heavenly works. If you have forgotten knowledge you once knew — return to it, retrieve it, keep it in mind. Upon the foundation of knowledge gained from this earthly world, acquire the knowledge of invisible wisdom. Earthly knowledge becomes the essential foundation for entering the invisible realm. You children may also use foreign languages in heavenly works. Even things you heard that seemed meaningless at the time — the day comes when that knowledge too becomes useful."

Children — We have taken this in.

"Intellectual knowledge is tested and verified, and it is only upon that foundation that one is led into the invisible realm. Depending on what you have come to know and what you have learned, the appointment for heavenly works is given in return. Therefore, look back once more at what you have learned and known, and reflect once more on what you have created and accomplished."

Children — Understood. We are grateful to you.

"The elder ancestors do not teach simply by the great decree of heaven. Observe carefully through your own body where it is and how it is — smell, taste, listen. The organs of the human body, beyond their own functions, have an additional capacity to receive invisible information — and this capacity resides in the soul body. By making you feel this, your cells are being cleansed. The energy pores of your physical bodies are sometimes closed, sometimes blocked with energy — and all of this is being cleansed simultaneously."

Homework — Developing Your Five Senses

Use each of your five senses one by one. Try to listen to something, try to smell, try to see, try to taste, try to perceive things of the invisible realm that are far away.

1.  Divide a single bowl of water into three cups and taste each one. Feel the difference between them.

2.  Divide snow equally into three portions and smell each one.

3.  For three consecutive nights before sleeping, simply listen.

4.  For another three consecutive days, sit for ten minutes.

5.  On the morning of the final day, spread your palms open to the morning sun and feel your physical body deeply. The energy pores that were closed will have opened.

6.  Once all of this is completed, everyone reports their results.

7.  Research the various scripts and writing systems used throughout historical times — beginning from petroglyphs, through to lineage texts and sacred scriptures.

Closing Blessing

May the great works of learning be abundant.

May this very physical body remain healthy.

May all works to be done be accomplished with ease.

May you leave your mark wherever you go, children.

I teach 4th grade and a crossword is my go-to sub plan, made a 15-clue grid with the kids crossword generator on our spelling-week vocab and it fits on a single page without me reformatting.

Clue hinting could use a bit of work but I just rewrite those myself.
